Welcome to Auckland, the “City of Sails”. On
arrival, collect your rental car and make your way to your hotel at your own pace. After
check-in, the rest of the day is free to relax or explore the city.
In the evening, visit the
iconic Sky Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the Southern Hemisphere. Enjoy sweeping
views over Auckland and its harbours, along with a great selection of dining options and
experiences.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and
begin your drive to Rotorua, travelling via Waitomo. En route, experience the famous Waitomo
Glowworm Caves, including a peaceful boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto, lit by thousands of
tiny glowworms overhead.
After the tour, continue on to Rotorua and check in to your
centrally located hotel.
Following breakfast, head to Te Puia, set within
the Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley. This remarkable area has deep cultural and spiritual
significance for local Māori communities.
Explore bubbling mud pools, steaming vents and the
powerful Pōhutu Geyser, which erupts regularly throughout the day. The experience is enriched by
knowledgeable Māori guides who share stories and traditions passed down through
generations.
The visit concludes approximately 60 minutes after commencement.
After breakfast, check out from your Rotorua hotel
and drive to Auckland Airport. Return your rental car and board your flight to Queenstown.
On
arrival, collect your rental vehicle and transfer to your hotel. After check-in, enjoy the
remainder of the day at leisure.
Queenstown is well known for its lively food and nightlife
scene. We will share a curated list of recommended cafés, restaurants and bars closer to your
arrival. Additional tours or activities can be arranged on request.
After breakfast, set off on a self-drive journey to
Milford Sound (approximately four hours each way). On arrival, board a scenic cruise through one
of New Zealand’s most breathtaking natural environments.
Take in dramatic cliffs rising from
deep blue waters, cascading waterfalls such as Bowen Falls and Stirling Falls, and keep watch
for wildlife including fur seals, penguins and dolphins. Whales are occasionally sighted in the
fiord. Selected cruises also feature underwater viewing areas.
After breakfast, enjoy a ride on the Skyline Queenstown Gondola. Travel up Bob’s Peak aboard the Southern Hemisphere’s steepest gondola and take in panoramic views of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding alpine landscape.
As per your flight schedule, drive to Queenstown Airport, return your rental car and proceed with your onward journey, taking home wonderful memories of New Zealand.
